Breaking News on ESPN:
Barry Bonds indicted on federal perjury and obstruction of justice charges.
Lester Munson Legal Correspondent for ESPN: “Government [has] documents that show what drugs Bonds took. The have a couple of tests…urine tests that are positive for steroids. They also have schedules of drugs that show Human Growth Hormone. And they have something from somebody involving the use of syringes … Some of the details we do not yet know … Some we do not know until the trial begins sometime next year.” (Forgive any inaccuracies as I am transcribing from the Television broadcast LIVE)
This has been a long time coming. A four year investigation. Evidently, there were some in San Francisco that were reluctant to indict the hometown hero zero.
John Burris, Barry Bonds’ Attorney on federal indictments against Barry Bonds: “I’m surprised, but there’s been an effort to get Barry for a long time. I’m curious what evidence they have now they didn’t have before.”
What a horrible example for the kids that look up to him. Let’s hope this guy gets what he deserves.
