IE8 passes the Acid2 test
· Jan 4, 02:23 PM

I’m sure most web designers out there will agree with me when I say Internet Explorer (esp. 6) is a pain to design for.

When IE 7 came out in ’06, it was a super improvement over version 6. But there still is a lack of standards compatibility.

However, you can imagine how happy I was when I heard that it was recently announced that internal builds of IE 8 now pass the Acid2 test. This is GREAT news.

This means that IE8 will support “display:table” and generated content, etc.

I know, this is nerd stuff to most of you that read this blog, but it’s exciting to me.

Hopefully, we’ll be seeing some new and exciting things from Microsoft in the near future—for a change!
